With the generous contribution by Patricia and Raymond Chambers, the Healdsburg District Hospital was able to re-open its doors to its Intensive Care Unit in 2008. The Intensive Care Unit is staffed by on-site intensivists and equipped with robotic telemedicine. Introducing robotic telemedicine to the ICU has significantly enhanced the quality and capability of service that each patient receives. The HDH Telemedicine Program allows doctors to access HDH’s ICU through a remote presence monitor and analyze a patient’s condition.
With this technology, HDH has access to a wide range of physician specialists. The HDH Telemedicine Program is directed by James Gude, MD, and makes it possible for primary care physicians and our local specialists to consult immediately with on-call specialists throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
As one of Northern California’s pioneering hospitals using a remote presence to allow our staff to save more lives and improve patient care, HDH is able to lower costs for both patients and hospital. HDH is proud to continue its tradition of excellence in serving our patient’s healthcare needs in the most efficient and effective way possible.
