Dr. Whisman, a Southern California native, has been a resident of Sonoma County for 25 years caring for her patients at her private practice in Sebastopol as well as at the West County Health Centers in Guerneville and Occidental.
As a private practice physician, she specialized in comprehensive Family Medicine including Obstetrics and built long-lasting relationships with families across multiple generations. With deep roots in the community, and a devotion to providing excellent care for patients of all ages, she comes to Healdsburg District Hospital with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Dr. Whisman understands how critical her role is in her patients’ lives. As a Primary Care Physician, she spends quality time with her patients getting to know them in a way that allows for a more wholistic approach to care and treatment. She sees her practice as a patients’ medical home, where they feel safe, cared for, supported, and listened to.
One of Dr. Whisman’s greatest qualities is her ability to connect with her patients, seeing the whole person and his/her health history. A recent patient says of Kathleen, “I’ve never felt more cared for by a physician. Dr. Whisman brings a wealth of knowledge and experience her practice. She listens and offers information from many medical perspectives. With Dr. Whisman, I never feel rushed.”
When Dr. Whisman is not working, she enjoys spending time with her three, young-adult children, hiking on the beach with her two dogs, practicing yoga and cooking for family and friends.
Dr. Whisman looks forward to forming long-lasting, new relationships in Healdsburg with patients and colleagues.
