Dr. Misty Zelk is a board certified Internal Medicine physician with over 22 years of family medicine experience. She is a skilled internist who specializes in working with older patients.
Most recently, Dr. Zelk was a Medical Director for West County Medical Centers, Sebastopol. Her varied medical background includes more than six years as a Chief Medical Informatics Officer with both West County Medical Centers and Palm Drive Hospital. A 22-year Veteran, having served with both the Arkansas Army National Guard and Arkansas Air National Guard, she retired as a colonel and Group Commander of the 188th Medical Group. During her time in the military, Dr. Zelk served on deployments to Baghdad and Balad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She was also deployed to Ft. Sulphur, Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina.
According to Dr. Zelk, “Older patients have different needs. I focus on the individual helping to reset medical priorities, which includes evaluating their medications along with their lifestyle. My effort to provide care that improves or maintains a quality of life is paramount.”
When Dr. Zelk is not working, she enjoys quality time with her family and friends.
